Ingram Adds Chambersburg to Its POD Distribution Network

Jul 05, 2023

Instant access includes exclusive feature articles on notable figures in the publishing industry, the latest industry news, interviews of up and coming authors and bestselling authors, and access to over 200,000 book reviews.

Ingram Content Group has added its Chambersburg, Pa., facility to its print-on-demand distribution network, making it the first Ingram site with print and distribution in the same building.

Chambersburg has long been the hub for Ingram’s East Coast distribution business, and the new Lightning Source POD function will augment the center’s wholesale and distribution capabilities. With the upgrade, Chambersburg joins Ingram’s global print distribution network, which includes integrated operations in the U.K. and Australia and joint ventures for print distribution in France and the United Arab Emirates.

“Our long-term strategic vision of colocating fast print-on-demand services with state-of-the-art, automated book distribution is coming true,” Ingram’s chief logistics officer, Shan Everson, said in a statement. “We are proud of our Chambersburg team for bringing this vision to completion.”

Abraham Verghese's The Covenant of Water, published by Grove Atlantic, was the first hardcover printed at Chambersburg. Grove Atlantic president and publisher Morgan Entrekin said he was impressed: “The quality of these print-on-demand editions is impressive, and it is great to be able to get books with strong demand to customers faster.”
